🔧 Overview of the Precast Concrete Manufacturing

Every precast component is manufactured based on approved shop drawings and technical specifications. A detailed Project Quality Plan (PQP) is developed to guide production, covering:

• Quality control procedures

• Work instructions and inspection methods

• Detailed production steps

• Test forms and repair methods

• Complete documentation and records

🏭 Production Facility

All precast concrete production activities take place at VNPrecast’s factory, equipped with advanced machinery and experienced personnel. Clients are welcome to visit and inspect the facility at any stage of the production process.

🧱 Concrete – The Core of Quality

• Concrete mix designs must be approved by the client or designated QP (Qualified Person)

• Trial mixes are submitted for approval prior to mass production

• Fresh concrete is tested for workability (slump test) before use. Rejected if results are unsatisfactory

• Concrete is compacted using form vibrators and/or poker vibrators

• Curing is carried out under ambient conditions

• Test cubes are prepared according to project specifications

🔩 Reinforcement Steel

• Only use reinforcement from approved or client-nominated suppliers

• Complies with SS 2:1999, SS 32:1999, ASTM-A416, or equivalent standards

• Suppliers must provide mill certificates and test reports for each delivery

🧰 Moulds and Formwork

• Moulds are made of rigid, flat steel for a high-quality surface finish

• All joints are sealed to prevent grout leakage

• Moulds are equipped with vibrators where possible to enhance concrete compaction

• Release agents are applied to allow clean demoulding without damaging the concrete

🧐 Inspection & Approval

• Pre-pour inspections are conducted jointly by VNPrecast and the client’s representative

• Casting proceeds only after inspection and approval

• Post-production and pre-delivery inspections are carried out and require client sign-off

🏗️ Demoulding & Lifting

• Demoulding begins only when concrete has reached the specified strength (minimum 10 N/mm²)

• Components are lifted using gantry cranes and certified lifting hooks, supervised by a certified lifting supervisor

📦 Storage of Precast Elements

• Storage areas must be level, firm, and stable to support the precast units

• Use wooden or concrete spacers to stack components

• Observe maximum stacking height to prevent tipping or damage

🎯 Surface Finishing & Repairs

• Finishes must meet the client’s aesthetic and quality requirements

• Surface defects such as honeycombs or chips are repaired using approved materials

• Major repairs follow approved procedures

🚛 Transport of Precast Units

• Precast components are transported using truck cranes and/or trailers fitted with steel support frames to ensure stability during transit

• Poker vibrators & mould vibrators

• Forklifts

• Concrete buckets
